Linnie Hodge
Fine Art, Abstract
My style is fresh, loose and abstract. I often paint with my hands and I love to work on
large canvases, I feel like they are so much a part of me. I like to start by exploring lines
and marks, or sometimes by laying a ground color. It’s all to create a conversation and
to have something to illicit a response. The surprises that emerge from the layers bring
me joy. Art is a constant reminder of life’s beauty beneath the surface.

More About Linnie
Growing up in the SF Bay Area, Linnie’s journey through the world of arts began with music. As a
singer/songwriter she played in numerous clubs and venues, and was fortunate to be surrounded by
so many wonderful performing artists in the 70s and 80s. She eventually moved to the lush
landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. While raising her three sons, she also sold Real Estate for over
25 years.
It was later in life, that Linnie discovered a new avenue for self-expression—visual art. Among the
styles she encountered, Linnie’s heart was led down the path to abstract expressionism. Studying
with master teaching artists, she explores the freedom of form and emotional depth in the abstract.
With passion and a deep sense of gratitude for her newfound artistic journey, Linnie dedicates herself
wholeheartedly to honing her craft in her lakeside studio in Olympia, Washington. For Linnie art isn’t
just a passion it’s become her way of life and how she sees the world. It’s a journey of self-discovery
and a celebration of the beauty that surrounds us
